As a resident of Harford County since 1989, Diane has immersed herself in leadership roles from the very beginning.
Diane formed two small businesses upon moving to the County, Hometitle Company of Maryland Inc., and Sengstacke and Evans Law Firm and is currently still operating them.
In addition to being an attorney and real-estate lawyer, she is married 32 yrs. to Chris Sengstacke, a Sr. Systems Engineer and a mother to twins Allison and James Sengtacke.
You will find Diane supporting the military every way she can as her son, now SPC James Sengstacke, is currently serving on active duty in the United States Army at Fort Hood, Texas. In addition, Diane’s patriotism extends far onto her daughter, Allison, who sings the national anthem at local sporting events and works as an IT administrator for a DoD contracting business in Belcamp, MD.
Diane wants to enhance the cultural activity in Harford County. She supports the Havre De Grace Opera House, The Arena Center at HCC, Ripken Stadium, and the Maryland Center of the Arts. She hopes to help bring the Maryland Center of the Arts’ building and mission to fruition in Harford County.
Diane has a heart for supporting and promoting small businesses, as she is a small-business owner herself. She also supports large businesses, such as APG, that is currently one of Harford County’s largest employers. Diane wants to keep the county’s businesses rolling and bring in new businesses as well for economic development, job support, and quality of life of Harford County. She plans to follow through by lowering regulation, making the permitting process easier, and creating tax incentives.
Not only is Diane career and family focused, she is community focused as well.
She is currently serving on the Harford Community College Foundation Board, Harford County Economic Development Advisory Board appointed by County Executive Barry Glassman, non-profit Welcome One FCCAU Shelter board, Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra board as Vice President, Upper Chesapeake Chorus team as Financial Officer, the Judicial Nominating Commission appointed by Governor Hogan, and the Harford County Property Tax Assessment Appeal Board also appointed by Governor Hogan. She is involved in a variety of clubs in Harford County as well. She is an attorney adviser to the C. Milton Wright High School Mock Trial team, a member of the Bel Air Rotary Club, Harford County Republican Women Club, Harford County Republican Club, Bel Air United Methodist Church choir, and Upper Chesapeake Chorus. In addition, she has helped organizations such as ARC, Anna’s House, Harford Family House, and Maryland Center for the Arts.
Diane hopes to help Harford County’s law enforcement and prosecutors to catch gangs and drug distributors. She promotes harsh sentencing for punishment and aid for the victims, including rehabilitation and counseling for mental health.
She would like to increase teachers’ salaries within the Harford County Budget, and promote more technology in the classroom as well as educating the students of IT safety. Diane wants to help Harford Community College with new buildings and curriculum, including increasing vocational training and helping IT/Cyber certifications.
